GTI Centre for Feminist Leadership is a gender training institute registered under National Accreditation Council for Technical Education (NACTE). The institute has been in existence since 1993 as a Training and Capacity Building programme of Tanzania Gender Networking Programme (TGNP).Since 1993, the institute, has been providing transformative gender training and capacity development services based on animation/participatory approaches to its networks; government officials in different levels/sectors; grassroots and community organizations; higher learning institutions; donor/development agencies; non-governmental institutions; faith-based organizations; and individuals. The training/capacity development services have been offered on regular and tailor made basis, residential and non residential. Since its establishment GTI has trained over 5000 people from all over the country and from the region.

GTI seeks to recruit suitable and qualified candidates for the vacant positions listed below. For all posts, we are looking for persons with: a) commitment to gender, women empowerment, social justice and human rights issues, b) commitment to team work and participatory approaches c) motivation with strong interpersonal relations.

1. Programme Officer – Admissions & Student Services (1 position)

Principal Accountability: Responsible for student admissions and provision of other student services from pre-admission through post-graduation.

Key Qualifications and experience:-

§ A minimum of bachelor degree in social sciences and related field

§ Experience of 2 years in related field

§ Exposure to feminist theory and ideology

Key Competencies

§ Good writing and presentational skills.

§ Coaching/mentoring ability.

§ Communication, spoken and written in Kiswahili and English.

§ Computer literacy in word, power point, excel and e-mail and internet

§ Gender and feminist analysis.

§ Strong public-speaking skills.

§ Participatory facilitation and community animation.

2. Course Trainer – (3 positions)

Principal Accountability: Responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering of academic and short term courses and conducting research. Areas of specialty to include Policy, Animation, Ideology organizing & Advocacy

Key Qualifications and experience:-

§ A minimum of master’s degree in social sciences with education background

§ Ability to utilize participatory/animation methodology

§ Minimum experience of 3 years in training field

§ Readiness to work in feminist ideology

Key Competencies

§ Skill in material development.

§ Skills and exposure to participatory facilitation and community animation.

§ Demonstrate skills in preparing, delivering and assessing students work.

§ Excellent organizational skills required; experience with project management tools and techniques preferred.

§ Excellent oral, written and presentation skills required for interaction with faculty and staff, as well as subject matter experts.

§ Problem solving and interpersonal skills.

§ Prioritize and meet agreed upon deadlines.

§ Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills.

§ Gender and feminist analysis.

§ Strong public-speaking skills.

3. Programme Officer – Marketing and Communication (1 position)

Principal Accountability: Responsible for marketing the institute and its programmes and generating crucial information for credibility growth and sustainability of the institute in line with feminist principles.

Key Qualifications and experience:-

§ Bachelor degree in Business Administration with bias in Marketing or equivalent

§ Exposure to feminist/animation theory and ideology

§ Basic computer literacy in word processing and data capturing

§ Minimum of two years working experience in marketing and communications

§ Readiness to work in feminist ideology.

Key Competencies

§ Critical analysis and action research.

§ Gender and feminist analysis.

§ Monitoring and evaluation.

§ Participatory facilitation and community animation.

§ Computer literacy (Office systems and data analysis packages).

§ Strong public-speaking skills.

4. Programme Officer – Monitoring and Evaluation (1 position)

Responsibilities: Responsible in undertaking monitoring activities, dissemination and knowledge management.

Key Qualifications and experience:-

§ Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Planning, Economics, Monitoring and Evaluation

§ Working experiences of at least 3 years of work in similar position

§ Knowledge of work with NGOs on gender and development issues would be an added advantage

§ Readiness to work in feminist theory and ideology

Key Competencies

§ Demonstrated ability to plan, implement and manage project programme activities.

§ Proven ability to facilitate strategic planning processes/sessions.

§ Good presentation skills.

§ Proactive and motivated self starter with ability to promote and provide quality technical and backstopping support to a range of staff and partners.

§ Excellent interpersonal skills.

§ Proficiency in both written and spoken English, very good drafting skills and computer literacy.
